The New Candys formed in Venice in 2008. After a self-produced EP, their first album ‘Stars Reach The Abyss’ (Foolica) was released in 2012, followed by a UK tour. A track from it is included in the annual compilation “The Reverb Conspiracy” by the British label Fuzz Club and the American The Reverberation Appreciation Society (Levitation Austin). In 2015, the second album ‘As Medicine’ was released on the American label Picture In My Ear and again on Fuzz Club. Mixed by John Wills of Loop, it receives praise from Simone Marie Butler of Primal Scream, Stephen Lawrie of The Telescopes and Orange Amplification. Three European tours followed, including support for bands such as Slowdive, The Vaccines, Savages, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and appearances at festivals including Secret Garden Party and Liverpool Psych Fest.

2017 saw the release of their third album ‘Bleeding Magenta’ (Fuzz Club / Little Cloud Records) and their fourth European tour included an appearance at SpaceFest in Gdansk. The band’s international recognition is consolidated in 2018, first with an Australian tour where they play headliners at the Sydney and Melbourne Psych Fest and participate in the Adelaide Fringe, then with a tour of the US and Mexico that includes a live session at KEXP radio in Seattle. They also perform at Fuzz Club Eindhoven alongside The Black Angels and others and play opening for The Brian Jonestown Massacre in Italy. In 2019 they complete two consecutive tours with over 50 concerts, first in Europe and then in the US and Canada. Concerts include the Desert Stars Festival in Joshua Tree, Milwaukee Psych Fest, The Echo in Los Angeles, Hotel Vegas in Austin and the Mercury Lounge in New York. Their third European tour in September included Levitation France alongside gigs with The Warlocks and The Dandy Warhols. In January 2020, they played the Balkan Peninsula for the first time. Some of their songs have been included in episodes of the American TV series ‘Shameless’.

The fourth album ‘Vyvyd’ is due out on 4 June 2021 via Little Cloud Records and Dischi Sotterranei, as well as a special vinyl edition for Fuzz Club.
